Radhika RajivKumar
Smt. Radhika Rajivkumar is an accomplished dancer of repute in the Bharathanatyam style of Indian Classical Dance. She received her initial training in Bharathanatyam in Mumbai from Guru Ananda Narayanan and Ramaswamy Bhagavathar (disciple of Sri. Kannappa Bharatham Narayanaswamy and Sri.Vazhuvur Ramaiah Pillai) and further undertook advanced training under Guru Dr. Vimala Nair (a very senior disciple of Late Guru Kalaimamani Kadhirvelu Pillai and Padmabhusan Kalanidhi Narayanan of Chennai). After shifting to Bangalore, she continued her specialised training from Karnataka Kalashree and Shantala awardee Guru Smt. B. Bhanumathi and Guru Smt. Sheela Chandrashekhar. She is part of the famed BHARATHANJALI group, a prominent dance group in the cultural landscape of Bangalore. Smt. Radhika is also undergoing training in Natuvangam under prominent Mridangam Vidwan Sri. Narayanaswamy. Smt. Radhika upgrades her skills by regularly attending workshops and seminars conducted by eminent Gurus.
Smt. Radhika holds a Masters degree in Economics and a Masters degree in Fine Arts for Bharathanatyam.
Smt. Radhika performed her Arangetram at Sree Guruvayoor Temple, Kerala in 1995. Since then, she has staged several solo and group dance performances in various temples and dance festivals across Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Her performance, both on stage and in visual media, has earned her acclaim for their high professional standards, and for the quality and purity of her dance style.
She has won many awards and accolades. She has been bestowed the title of “Singar-Mani” by the Sur Singar Samelan, Mumbai in the year 2002. Articles appreciating Smt. Radhika's performances have been published in both vernacular and national news papers.
Radhika trains young aspirants in Bharatanatyam through her institution "Devi Nrityalaya". The institute prepares students to undertake dance examinations conducted by prominent education boards. Devi Nrityalaya also facilitates Arengretram for students.
A multi-talented artist, Radhika has also ventured into the world of television as an actor and has been seen in Malayalam television productions promoting social causes.
